An Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos on Thursday dissolved a 30-year-marriage over alleged promiscuity. The court terminated the union after the petitioner, Mr. Gbeminiyi Adeyiga, 88, had insisted that he would no longer condone the infidelity of his wife, Sekinat. Policemen attached to the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock are protesting, saying their Risk Caution Allowances haven’t been paid since 2015, Sahara Reporters reports. 53 have reportedly not been paid at all, while another 127 have not been paid in full. The policemen have reportedly filed a petition, titled “President Muhammadu Buhari’s mobile policemen plead over unpaid Risk Caution Allowances from May 2015 to date” to the president. The president is unaware of the unpaid salaries, one of the policemen said. He said the fear is that the allowances have been allocated and have been mismanaged. The petition sent to the president read: About 127 police officers attached to the Presidency have not been paid the balance of their risk caution allowances and about 53 mobile police officers that started working with the present government since 2015 have not been paid anything. UGHELLI – A female banker attached to one of the new generation banks along market road, Ughelli, Delta State has committed suicide over her husband’s alleged infidelity. The banker, a 32 year-old mother of two, was founded dead at her Iwhrekpokpor road residence in Ughelli, Delta State. Sources in the area said husband to the late woman had brought home his mistress to be staying with them under one roof, a situation that was said made her took her life. A neighbour at the residence who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: “An empty can of Sniper and Fanta was found by her lifeless body which was discovered in the house.” Confirming the incident, a senior police officer attached to the Ughelli ‘B’ Division police station, Agbarha-Otor, explained that her corpse has since been deposited at the morgue of a private mortuary. He said: “We believe she returned home from work on that unfaithful day and ingested the mixture, but investigations into the matter is still ongoing.”

A Whitehaven woman in England sent £11,500 from her husband’s bank account to a man in Nigeria she had met through Facebook. Jane Pope, of Hensingham, admitted fraud by false representation and theft after using her husband Michael’s bank details to send £4,000 and a £7,500 loan to the man – who she continues to speak to. At West Cumbria Magistrates today (Friday), the 55-year-old was handed a 180 day prison sentence, suspended for two years, and ordered to undergo 45 days of rehabilitation. Prosecutor Pamela Fee said Mrs Pope had paid the money to a man she believed lived in Nigeria, adding Mr Pope had “no knowledge” of the transactions as she managed the finances for both herself and her husband. She said Mrs Pope had filled out a loan application online and sent a cheque from the cheque book of her husband.
